20-F Document Type import

It would be helpful to have a way to import financial reports from ADR's. Namely, I'm working on analysis for Petrobras (PBR) and when I try to import it says it cannot find the XBRL however, the financials are under the 20-F. Does anyone else have this problem. If theres' a work around, I'd love to hear it.

  • Hi bpnelsen,

we don't crawl 20-F's yet, only 10k and 10q. We are currently reworking SimFin Fuse though and 20-F's are definitely on the list, will hopefully be available end of next month latest.
  • Hi bpnelsen,
I was about to integrate 20-Fs now but I realized there are a few problems:
    - 20-Fs are only reported annually afaik (at least for Alibaba that I checked now) and we need quarterly data for most of the calculations on SimFin (as we are interested in TTM ratios/data)
    - Some important meta info is missing in the 20-Fs most notably things such as end of the financial year for the company which is vital for a lot of calculations on SimFin

For these reasons I don't think there is a point in integrating 20-Fs currently unfortunately.
  • Hi all.

I believe not all 20-f reports earnings as alibaba (yearly). I have checked Nasdaq website and it does show quarterly earnings and the fiscal year end for PBR, the asset mentioned by bpnelsem.

I particullary would be interested in such data, if avaliable by simfin.
  • ok interesting, at the moment we can crawl via XBRL the data on the SEC only, and I couldn't find quarterly data there for PBR, only the annual 20-F filings: https://www.sec.gov/cgi-bin/browse-edgar?action=getcompany&CIK=0001119639&type=&dateb=&owner=exclude&start=0&count=40
