Hi, would it by any chance be possible to add all the original data before the restatements to the bulk data including all restatements? Otherwise I do not see how can anyone one conduct research with this data. Restatements happen in majority of cases and it means that any strategy which tested on overwritten data runs a lookeahead bias even if the data is usd after it has been already restated.

I am currently considering of using simfin data for my personal project (which might in the future become something more) and I purchased 1 month subscription, however now I am not sure I will be able to do any research.

    Thanks

      Hi Aynur,
Yes it's planned to publish a dataset with the as-reported values only. I can't tell you when exactly it will be available but it's on the list.

would the data in that case include original data as well as restated data?

do you have a preliminary timeline? Maybe in the next 12 months? The problem is I am building an investment research platform (so far for my private research). And if the data was not available in the foreseeable future I might to search for other sources on time before I invested too much time on integrating simfin

there will be 2 datasets in the future: one with only the original values and one with the most recent restatements. I also responded to your other post with some more details.

      As I said here: https://simfin.com/forum/discussion/213/bulk-download-python-api-publish-dates-update#latest
The differences when we checked last didn't seem "that big".
So this is not super high priority, but it will happen for sure in the next 12 months. Something like Q1/Q2 2021
